Room Updates

My room is slowly coming together! I still feel like things are everywhere and could use a little more storage.

Here are a few shots I took to send my sister. My closet at the moment is the most organized my closet has ever been, anywhere, ever. Hopefully it lasts. I will take a full room view this week and bathroom. My theme is black and white!

Tomorrow I am going to check out some running trails in Celebration. It's about 5-10 minutes away form me, and I can't WAIT to try out my new shoes, check out the new area, and go for a RUN!

I'm here :)

I am in my new apartment! My dad was a huge help today. We arrived in Orlando around 2 PM today and have been unpacking/ organizing and running errands ever since. It's midnight, and I'm exhausted- time to go to sleep! The drive was not as bad as I thought it would be.

I will update tomorrow with my apartment, and I am hopefully seeking out a new running trail as well. At this moment, I am going to watch the Royal Wedding on DVR and fall asleep!

...and we're off!

We are about to hit the road to venture to Orlando.

I probably won't post the next few days because I'll be driving/ moving to ORLANDO!

Bye, bye Michigan! See where it says 19 hours? Ugh.

Wahoo!

I did it! I went to my second yoga today. Yoga Shelter was having a 25% off sale and I really debated buying a pair of "Groovy Run Shorts" by lululemon. (They are not currently on the site). I love the Speed Short but they are a little short and for long runs. The Groovy ones look longer, so do the "Turbo" ones on the site. I really want a outfit for my upcoming marathon, but I just couldn't spend the money today since I am moving tomorrow and have no idea what kind of expenses I'm in for this weekend to finish furnishing my room and bathroom in my new apartment.

I did end up with a thick headband I have never seen in the stores or online at lululemon today. I wore it to yoga and it didn't stay on my head great, but I like it. I'm happy I went to one final slow flow tonight. It was the same instructor as my first time there a few months ago, and I haven't had a class with her since. It was funny today for my last class I had her again, kind of like it was a full yoga circle. I really liked her, and was bummed I didn't have her at all the other 22 times.

I spent the day visiting family and friends. Tomorrow at 7 AM I am off to my new adventure in Orlando. I am excited! I'm not very excited for the drive, but I'm happy my dad is going with me.

1 down 1 to go

I went to a yoga this morning. Vinyasa. The instructor was 15 minutes late, and therefore tried to hold us 15 minutes after- I had breakfast plans so I left early. I was kind of annoyed to leave early, but I had to. Also, I might go to my LAST one at 4:30 PM. I have been running errands all day, and I have a few more so I figured a Yoga class might just work.

It has been great to see all my family and friends the past week. It always makes me sad that we don't try to see each other ALL the time, and just not on special occasions.

Back to errands. No running today. I am getting antsy again! I really miss it when I can't lace up and go. I'm starting to get a little nervous for my marathon. I just don't want to get injured! It's only 17 days away! Well exactly 17 days, 13 hours, 6 minutes and 42 seconds from now.

New Shoes!

My new shoes arrived today from Nike. I'm really excited to take them out for a run! Unfortunately it doesn't look like that will be possible until my next destination: Orlando! Look at the difference! I really needed these.

It's almost 2 AM and I really need to fall asleep. I think I'm having a hard time falling asleep because today was a busy day from 8:45 AM basically up until now. I packed my entire car, so full that I'm scared to open the back side doors because I don't want anything to fall on my head.

I went to slow flow today, and enjoyed it more than yesterdays class. The teacher was very challenging for a slow flow class. I have 2 more classes to use and one more day. Will I be able to make it tomorrow? We'll see! Not if I don't get to bed ASAP!

Yoga and Errands

I have 3 yoga sessions to use in 2 days. Can I do it? Am I just crazy? Probably. I would hate to waste them, especially since each class is about $16. Today I woke up and barely made it to my 8:45 AM Sanga Vinyasa class. I really didn't feel like going, and didn't really enjoy myself because of it. I couldn't concentrate because of everything I had on my "list" of things to do today. In fact I wore my watch and watched the minutes go by until the class was over. Yoga is 100% what you put into it. Today I just didn't have the energy to put much into it. It did feel good to stretch out though after a week of long runs and sitting on the plane.

This is the picture I ended up framing for my room. It's a picture I took in Tokyo in a souvenir shop.

My living room is almost 100% full of things packed for Florida. The challenge will be fitting everything into my car. That is tomorrow's task.

Happy Easter Bunny

Happy Easter!

I took another REST day today.

It's not that I was sore, it's that I was BUSY! Last night my friends threw a surprise going away party for me. I walked into Rojo in St. Clair Shores to family and friends sitting at a long table there for a night of margaritas and dinner! My friend Natalie made me a cake! Not just any cake, this was the most beautiful cake I've ever seen. They told me she made it and I didn't believe it, it was a colorful cake with Mickey ears on it. I absolutely LOVED it, and was so touched by the effort that was put into making it. I had an absolute blast, and having everyone together in one place made me a little sad to be leaving...

It was the perfect night to see all of my friends again before my big move this week. I had a wonderful Easter with family and now need to settle down and see what I have going on this week.

Pics from Cali!

Here are a few pics from my trip last week. They are in no particular order, just a few from my camera on things I mentioned on my blog.

The Best Day Ever

A hike overlooking LA and the Hollywood sign. The cutest lunch deli with delicious food while spotting celebrity Adrian Greenier from Entourage. Wine outside on a beautiful day with best friends. Does this all seem possible? Yes, it does! And it was! I had a very memorable last day in California yesterday. It's one of those days I'm sure I'll remember the rest of my life.
Natalie and I the night before.
Lee! Who made the PANCAKES!

We woke up and started the day with homemade Pancakes and strawberry sauce made by our friend Lee. We drove to LA to hike g through Runyon Canon Park in Hollywood. The hike took about 2 hours and was absolutely stunning. We saw views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign. It was a perfect sunny day and the weather was ideal for a hike. The hike was challenging, but not too difficult and I was sad when we finished. It was about a 3 mile hike all together, with beautiful views.

Peek a boo Hollywood sign!
Love.

After our hike we headed to the The Mustard Seed to eat lunch. While walking past the window I spotted "Vinny" from Entourage. I couldn't think of his name, and I was a little bit more starstruck than I thought I'd be. He is really good looking in a very pretty boy kind of way, and seemed to be enjoying his lunch. If we didn't just finish a long hike and was starving I probably would have asked to take a picture with him. Also, he was eating lunch and no one seemed to be bothering him so I didn't want to make a scene, even though I kind of did. I did manage to get a pic of him walking out of the restaurant, even though and one point we were only a few inches away!
Bye bye Adrian Grenier :(

Coco staring at the Hollywood sign in between opening the window with her paws.
After lunch we headed to "There's no place like HOME" restaurant. It was adorable! The theme was "home" obviously, and it was a very cute, laid back feeling.

After lunch we headed back to LAX area and had a quick bite for dinner. I don't remember the name, but it was a all vegetarian restaurant. I realize where my weaknesses are when it comes to ordering out. I had a side of sweet potato friends I could have easily went without at dinner and a side of potato salad at lunch that I could have easily switched to salad. I have to start making these small changes, and stop treating everything as a "special" occasion.

The flight home last night was easy, I slept the entire way. I woke up in Detroit, came to my house and slept a few more hours. Now I am sitting in my messy room, trying to get the motivation to unpack to pack again, while thinking of the amazing time I had in California. I am really happy I chose not to cancel the trip. The next few days are going to be insane, but I'll make it work.

Today is 100% a REST day. It is a beautiful day in Michigan, I just need a day of REST for my body. I ran/walked/hiked 40 miles the last 3 days, so I think it's well deserved :) At this moment I feel happy and extremely blessed to have such great friends all over.
